CME Group Records First Trades in Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap Futures
FalconX and GSR executed the inaugural block trades in CME Group's new BCH and UNI futures contracts, marking a derivatives milestone.
CME Group, the world's largest derivatives marketplace, confirmed Monday that FalconX and GSR have completed the first block trades in its newly launched Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI) futures contracts, the Chicago-based exchange operator announced October 20, 2026.
The milestone transactions signal continued institutional appetite for regulated cryptocurrency derivatives beyond Bitcoin and Ether, the two digital assets that have historically dominated CME's crypto product lineup. By extending its futures offerings to BCH and UNI, CME is broadening the tools available to professional traders seeking price exposure or hedging mechanisms in altcoin markets.

FalconX, a prime brokerage serving institutional crypto traders, and GSR, a digital asset market maker, were identified as the counterparties in the inaugural block trades. Block trades on CME are privately negotiated large-volume transactions executed outside the open order book but reported to and cleared through the exchange, providing institutional participants a structured and regulated venue.
The addition of Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures reflects an ongoing effort by established financial infrastructure providers to bring regulatory clarity and risk-management products to a wider spectrum of digital assets. Uniswap, the decentralized exchange protocol whose governance token UNI underpins the contracts, represents a notable step — it is among the first DeFi-native assets to receive a dedicated CME futures product.
