KeyCorp Posts Record $2.04B Revenue, EPS Jumps 24% in Q3 2026
KeyCorp reported third-quarter net income of $537 million, with record revenue and a 24% year-over-year rise in diluted earnings per share.
KeyCorp delivered record quarterly revenue of $2.04 billion in the third quarter of 2026, an 8% increase from the same period a year earlier and a 4% gain from the prior quarter, the regional bank announced in its earnings report.
Net income reached $537 million, translating to $0.51 per diluted common share — a 24% improvement year-over-year. The results signal continued momentum in the bank's core operations as net interest margin climbed to 2.95%, rising 20 basis points year-over-year and 6 basis points sequentially, reflecting the bank's ability to widen the gap between what it earns on loans and what it pays on deposits.

Deposit growth outpaced loan expansion during the quarter, with average deposits rising $3.6 billion sequentially. That dynamic is generally viewed as a sign of balance sheet strength, giving the bank a broader funding base relative to credit risk on its books.
The results reinforce a pattern among major regional lenders of capitalizing on a higher-for-longer interest rate environment to boost net interest income, even as loan demand remains measured. KeyCorp's margin expansion and deposit inflows suggest the Cleveland-based institution has continued to benefit from its funding mix and relationship banking strategy.
